The subject says it all really.
I've been looking at various Warmoth bodies and necks for over a year now but with the exchange rate & taxes how they are i am really looking for something similar in the UK.
Does such a place exist?
Thanks
-
There's a place in spain, still got exchange issues but no taxes. Search for body in guitar accessories on ebay and you'll find them (their website offers a full bespoke service, and not too ridiculous moneywise either, base prices are actually cheaper than WD).

Try Axes R Us too - not bad wood, and relatively cheap.

What are you looking for - painted and ready to go or bare wood?
If it's the latter I can help

Where are they based, the website is a little vague. Going off just the websites I'd say there's a little way to go until they are the UK Warmoth.
What did you get from them Phil, any photos?
-
HI tom
Yes new website under construction a few pictures in the customer gallery - 99% of parts are all exact copies of the originals , i work there ;) based in Lincoln
-
Good to see they are being made in the UK then Phil, I'll keep an eye on the website as I'm after a strat body soon.
I think some more detailed photos of the unfinished bodies and things like weights etc would be very helpful.

Yep, BIG attractions of the Warmoth site, for me, are being able to see the actual parts you're buying and the weights of the bodies.
Even though I've heard good reports of other manufacturers (USACG, for example), I still feel uncomfortable not actually seeing what I'm getting.
I appreciate it must be a tough business to establish yourself in, because clients need to feel they can trust you (not so much financially - although that too! - but in the quality of the goods)

USACG makes great parts. Perhaps a bit higher end than Warmoth, but also priced a bit higher ...

Thanks Tom it's great to hear feedback as to where we should be heading , the site that's up right now was just a tester to see if it would have interest so now we will have a new site with lots more detail , the individual bodies/weights is a must it sounds like , there will be a sign up on the next site where we will send out special offers of individual bodies. Aiming to be like warmoth but uk based should save lots of shipping cost/import tax !! Any other ideas you guys have would be pleased to listen :) cheers

a rocket roll style V body that will fit wizard necks would be great!

Bodies look cool.
Any plans for necks?
Mark.

Good question - that was going to be my next post on here! I'm making a body but am not yet up to the required standard to make a neck - too many angles to play with for my liking.

Hi Mark / Ian - yes we do necks , machine them in batches of 20 and they have all sold so need to make a new batch hopefully in a few weeks, we will be making a large batch next as they take long time to set the machine as you say loads of angles !

Cheers Phil. What specs can you support? You say you machine them in batches of 20, I'm just wondering how you decide what to get in stock. Is it by request or do you just build what you can in batches and put them up for sale?

Ian - yes we just make stratocaster and tele necks , they are normally on the site but we took them off as not to let anyone down who wanted to order we have just been really busy with bodies so not had time to set up again for necks. They are copies of originals so the specs are spot on (i will try attach a pic to this ) Just been looking into getting some curly maple tops for some tele's today so that could be our next plan - eerm think i need to work on uploading pics lol
