Title: Please allow me to introduce myself...
Post by: Core on April 29, 2005, 11:49:04 PM
Hi....

Greetings from sunny Sussex!

New member of the forum here - been using BK p/ups for a while now: "Piledrivers" on my JD Tele, a "Custom wind for silly-grin-filth" set, for my 57RI Strat and am just about to load my 62RI Strat with a set of Fender pickups, which have been treated to Tim's "62" spec rewind.  ( A big thanks to Ron, as well!)

The word "awesome" has been hijacked and over-used by many people, these days... but that's what they are... awesome pickups... with awesome tone.  They have utterly transformed good guitars into great ones.

When I get approval from the management (Her indoors) then - who knows? - my 1970 Les Paul Custom ("Lucifer") might be enjoying the beneift of a set of "Mules" before very long.

Looking forward to being here!

Les

Yeah, welcome from me too. Where in West Sussex? I'm in Horsham. I am hoping to sort out one of my Strats soon and I am gonna love trying to make up my mind. The one that needs sorting is a 1970's one which is a great guitar and I have had it more or less since new but had EMG's put in it a few years back but I hate the thought of having batteries and I want to get a nice classic tone-I am thinking Apaches or maybe Irish Tours for a bit of extra oomph. I hope to get to the show- work permitting.

38thB, if you can get over to Tunbridge Wells, I can introduce you to a set of Apaches and possibly Irish Tours if they're fitted by then AND the guitar hasn't gone to the customer. Both are stunning sets of pickups, the Apaches I use on my own 54 replica Strat and they cover everything from the Shads to the dark side with just a touch on the volume control.  Sheer magic!  I offer free fitting on BKs by the way! Bring your Strat over and A/B them.............

Hello Ron, I might just do that. I have visited your site a number of times and said "HI" on your gurst book. I had to pas through T W a week or so back en route to West malling on business. If I had had time I'd have called you beforehand but as it turned out, the schedule was changed at the last minute. Thanks for that.

  Oooooh Ron!
I don't suppose that by any chance those Irish Tours that you speak of might just be mine and that "Rory" is beginning to see the light of day?

Hi 38th Beatle (if I remember correctly, I was the 27th Beatle?  Or was it the 72nd one....? :) )

I am in a village near Chichester - not a million miles away!  If you want to try out the 57 with Tim's Custom Wind pickups, I'd be happy to let you try it out. Personally, I am over the moon with them!
