Well, i don't know if anyone on this board lives in Hemel, but i hope you guys are ok and every thing is fine.
You can hear the emergency services screaming down the road over here in Hatfield.
I actually work in one of the surrounding warehouses (asos.com) and it looks like a have a few days off work due to the amount of smoke (an irritant) and apparent damage to the building. Good thing i didn't bother with over time this weekend.

Ten minutes after these photos were taken, it's spreading fast, it's covering the sun and it's just got alot darker.
-
It's dark in north london too. I just spoke to my bruv and he is in Fulham and it's dark there too!
-
the pictures just look like any other day :? my dad's friend lives in Hemel and his windows got blown in, hehe! No effects round here...
-
That's actually smoke. It's not cloud.
-
:D It`s the same here in N.E.London/Essex its was very dark about
12 `sh & was blocking out the sun as well !
:D 8)

You can see the size of the cloud here, taken by a satellite shortly after the explosion:

Apparently it involved about 60,000,000 gallons of fuel :!:
Many houses have been damaged, with some reporting feeling effects from the explosion as far away as Oxfordshire - while it was heard in a number of counties and even France and the Netherlands.
-
It was on the news. I didn't hear the explosion, tho.
Terrible tradigidy. For the people and the environment.
This might sound a bit selfish but I bet this means fuel prices will be going up (again).

Seeing that map gave me an idea.
For those of you who don't know, Bareknuckle is located here!
-
LOL - that was a bit random steve :? but i did always wonder where yu guys were exactly!
Can see the smoke now here! usually i can see coombe hill out my window - now it's all smogged out.

My friend (also my band's drummer) 's dad had their main office there, and it just got blown to smithereens. Fortunately no-one was hurt, but that business is down the drain...

Thats nasty. Are they covered on insurance for that? I can imagine it being the kind of thing the insurance companies manage to weedle their way out of...
-
what happened anyway? i hope everyone's ok!
EDIT; wow, i just checked it on the news! :o
-
damn!
best wishes to anyone involved!
