We are not a progressive rock band, as such. Well, we don't consider ourselves progressive rock, at any rate.
This song is definitely our most epic to date, however.

MYTHLORIA
(c) 2009.
The woods of Avalon are felled
Their joys no more resound
'cross all the blind and toiling world
In chains of Reason bound
Yet beneath lone sentinels
The Dreamers gaze afar
And sow the seeds of Arcady
Reborn under the stars
Silver horns
Trumpet the Dawn
Alight on gilded shields
Ancient citadel rising high
Battle standards upon the field
I feel the wind come sweeping from groves of old
I hear elder voices whisper to me of tales untold
Mariners on lost oceans I behold
Fabled legions leading charges bold
Ne'er retreating
Blessed isles rise from otherworldly seas
Under newly imagined skies realms beyond the reach of time come to be
I see the silver light of stars that were ancient ere Man was made
I hear the hooves of the hunt thundering in the hidden glade
Weary children of Babylon
Hearken to us now
Within you sleep unkindled fires; healing songs of leaf and bow
Come, clothe yourselves in rainment adorned
With gems of spirit and mind
Sail with us in ships of wonder across the gulfs of time
All harmonies
Are born of the one melody
Golden leaves on the silver tree
All rivers weave
Paths that lead back to the sea
All you need do is believe
I see twin moons shining above a circle of standing stones
I hear distant worlds singing out their remote, unearthly tones
Wayward travelers,
Heartily we call you home
Wander not unlighted paths despairing and alone
For here are poets lordly; the music makers forever mighty kings
And within the deathless Hall their songs we will forever sing

I forget, is 'blows' good or bad?
I mean, 'sucks' can definitely be good, and bad...
My head hurts.

(PS see what I did there?)

I've only known it to mean bad :?
With some production work (I think the guitar and bass sounds are weak) and some tightening up of the ol' right hand it could be cool and right out 1976!
EDIT: And I'd bin that solo if it can't be bettered.

Well, i haven't actually listened to it, but you mentioned the word prog in that post, linking your music directly to the greatest ever prog band in the universe, which is Dream Theater, and in comparison your music sucks. I know that, and i don't even need to take the time (pun intended) from listening to a proper prog band like Dream Theater.
;)

They can't even spell Theatre!
:D

i thought your tone was quite 70's like. the whole thing has quite the vibe. congrats. looking forward to the finished version. be sure to drop me a line when you put your cd on sale, you have me intrigued!
People should listen before making vague statements ;)

Thanks for listening, Kevin!
I'm glad that you 'get' it. :)

I've just had a listen and it sounds very well done to my ears. :D
-
Interesting. It sounded very 1970's to me-by which I mean the sounds of the instruments and the recording generally-I am not saying that as a criticism. If I were honest I would say not really my scene but nevertheless very well done and put together. I'll give it some more hearings though. I rate the bass playing Ben-some nice touches in there.
-
I enjoyed it. It does sound very much like a '70s recording - quite clean and non-bombastic rather than the everything-louder-than-everything-else approach of modern records. Quite British sounding, dare I say?
(Thank God it doesn't sound like Dream Theater)

That was really cool!
Very 70's and 80's like, a mix between rush and Maiden

Thanks, E. Turkey!

It sounds like theres a cast of several guitars contributing their tones on this one!

Your ears are quite correct!
A few guitars, a few different settings on each one, 2 amps, and LOTS of different pedal combinations!
