I play blues rock, I use a '62 Fender American Vintage Reissue Stratocaster through a Ibanez TS-9 Tube Screamer into a '65 Fender Deluxe Reverb amp.
I'm trying to get a SRV kinda tone, I have the playing style down but, I just need that extra little bit and I have a friend who SWEARS by Bare Knuckle Pickups.
So what BARE KNUCKLE PICKUP would you guys recommend? I'm new to BKP's and don't really know whats' what.
Thanks In Advance,
Jay

Hello Jay, Welcome to the forum. I would suggest you have a look at the spec for Irish Tours for the bluesy tone. I have set of Apaches and they can kick it out- very subtle and articulate and with a cranked up amp are great. I have not used Irish Tours but there are a few postings with them in the players room. HJM will contribute with his advice as will Tim. You might also like to look at Mothers Milk for the 1960's Strat tone. Apaches are Tims favourite and he is "The Man".

Irish Tours for definate.
I'd get them wound that little bit hotter though, just to push the amp he little harder at times :D
Andy!

+1 On the Irish Tours. The sound is based on Rory Gallagher. It's pretty much the same sound as SRV.

from what i hear, i haven't tried them, though...

+3 for Irish Tours. I've got a set in a Hendrix tribute strat and they're amazing. They blew away the stock pickups. They'll get all the sounds you're looking for and more. 8)

I'm going to fall in line here and say Irish Tour single coils all the way!

can anyone link me to a soundclip? I saw where they have soundclips on the pickup page but it just sends me back to the forum. I was hoping someone could just link me right to a soundclip or a post with the Irish Tour soundclip in it.
Thanks A Million,
Jay

There are some in the "Players" section but you will need to scroll through. Currently they are on page 4 though TO has one on page three. Here is a link to one by Bird:
