I agreed to come on an all inclusive for two weeks with my Woman and her 10 year old daughter.
Help!! Euro Kid Pop all day long, its ffing awful!
My only sanctury is the free beer and my ipod.
I feel like a prisoner. I checked out the scooters but they ain't cheap.
I'm reading lots of guitar books but I wish i had one to play with all this spare time.
Only a week to go

Not a sunbathing-by-the-pool man, then? Whereabouts are you?

Whereabouts are you?
Menorca. Prenounced Menorrrrrcaaaaa. It looks nice outside of the Stalag I'm imprisoned in.

Aaah. I've been to Majorca/Mallorca, but not at this time of year (and not by choice, obviously).
They probably are OK places to visit really, if you can escape from the straw donkeys and "Real Eenglish Feesh & Cheeps" zones.

i know exactly what you mean johnny and i sympathise fully

I feel for you. I managed to talk my girlfriend out of that sort of holiday this year.
-
Ouch, I feel for you dude! It's like going to Blackpool, only hotter and more expensive. Especially with all the other Brits there who make you wish you were from Russia, Iran...anywhere but the UK. They're so embarrassing! :?
-
ooo, i got stuck in Menorca for a week with the girlfriend a few years ago. i read three books in a week, that's how exciting it was! in fairness, there's some nice scenery, mahon is pretty. but DULL! and it rained the whole time we were there too! just like home
-
For the same price you could have had my spare room

Missing a guitar is awful. I on the other hand have only to reach a few feet to my left and I can play one.

I was thinking about the cruise you went on Steve. The unlimited baggage bonus and taking a guitar. That must have been nice.
I've been reading Guthrie Govans Creative Guitar Techniques. So its not all bad.
I must try and escape soon!

I'm just back from a week in St Ives. Managed to survive the guitar-withdrawal not so bad this time.
The way it seems to work for me is to drop the subject of guitar completely - don't talk about it, try not to think about it even... just get on with "ordinary" life like the other people seem too
(And then try not to look too relieved when you walk back in the front door and pick up an axe while she's loading the washing machine )
Anyway - hope the second week's not too bad Johnny (my second week is "back home" amongst all my geetars...)

It's not too bad on holiday now. The weather is perfect so i shouldn't complain. I've read some good guitar stuff by Guthrie Govan. He explains things very well. I know have a better understanding of Major scales and their relative Minors. Plus a bit more understanding of Modes and the CAGED system. Looking forward to having a guitar in my hands again to try it all out before i forget it! I can save towards getting my Tele project finished when i get back.
St Ives is a nice place Andy. Did you see any good bands in the pubs down there?
-
Glad the holiday's improving :D
We did see a band soundchecking outside The Sloop... but we were about the only other people outside at that moment: the missus, somewhat under the influence of the wine that had just accompanied a superb roast duck, decided we would go for a walk instead of running for cover - we got extremely wet... not sure whether the band ever got an audience, we could hear them playing later, but it never stopped raining that night...
