Title: ** Cross-buckers - would they work ***
Post by: jimibt on December 13, 2005, 10:34:01 AM
i've obviously got a very slack day today as i'm just sitting here entertaining the thought that an alternating wind on a humbucker in a cross formation [i.e the coils arranged a bit like the st andrews saltire flag] (a starbucker  :D) may give an interesting tone.

any thoughts on the likely result of such a mutant arrangement??

jim

btw - the idea would be that each 'coil' would have alternate winds so would be somewhat 'intertwingled' at the cross-over point (possibly creating some sort of interference pattern as a result).

hoots mon ...

oh - forgot to add, of course i realised that one one full height wind would be possible, sure i did -doh!!

but if theoretically possible to do, then that there cross-bucker would be ermmm - expensive :)

ok - g'night, dream over!!  :D
