Haven't used one, but they do look a bit naff, don't they? I'm sure they do the job.

they sure do ;)

I have one works fine no probs was temp until got new pickguard must get around to that

Sinner in angled position in Neck would surely be killer! :P
-
funny enough, i looked that up a couple of days ago. i saw a guy playing in a blues band in county Monaghan, with an epiphone les Paul custom 3 pickup with one of those in the neck position. it sounded pretty good. did look odd though.

It would make a good template to make a nicer one out of wood!
-
Great idea, but maybe not a top seller item.
Would be great for a h-s-s strat if you wanted to go classic strat (and your humbucker sits in a mounting ring).
-
In a way, its a shame its angled.. Not so ideal for the neck. Maybe it has to be angled though considering the dimensions of the pickups. Might do some experimenting

Alvin Lee had a straight one on his 335, but it looks like he had to do some routing!

It does look like the clearances will be a little tight:

I'd say that PRS will have definitely had some minor routing. Their cavities are pretty tight (oo-er) even for normal humbuckers.
