Title: Warpig and Holy Diver clips *Behemoth content*
Post by: Kride on August 26, 2010, 04:02:58 PM
Whooped this together today, kinda sloppy but whatever... for shitez and gigglez

Both Caps (2 tracks per geet = quad tracked)

The Angelus 24 (dual tracked, lifted the guitar bus volume a tad to compensate)
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/536880/behemoth_angelus_m.mp3

The Horus (dual tracked, lifted the guitar bus volume a tad to compensate)
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/536880/behemoth_horus_m.mp3

Angelus loaded with BKP Holy Diver (and Dimarzio Paf Pro)
Horus loaded with BKP Warpig (and Dimarzio Air Norton S)

'Rig:'
TSE X30, KeFIR (loaded with 'guitarhack original edge.wav')
Addictive Drums
Midi bass

Same settings (EQ etc.) on both clips and on all guitar tracks.

Rest of the clip if I get my lazy ass to record it  gotta fix that drum track also.
Probably recording with my Savage next...

Thanks!  :D

Great FREE amp plugins and speaker/cab impulses these days...

Sounds nice but I'd like to hear those caparisons through a mic'ed amp, just one raw track straight in the amp. Curious on how they sound as you can read so much nonsense on those guitars.

Cheers

Doing is what you ask is kinda pointless since the amp, cab, mic, room, position of the mic and player's technique itself will alter the tone so much. Best is to try out one yourself. And what nonsense you particularily mean?

What were you're settings for this? I've got it, but I can't get it to sound tight and agressive like that

Truely

I've found why I was getting mud - was to do with the mix on the cab impulses. Sorted now, and after testing with Corporal Jigsore Quandry, it's brutal

Yeah always wet mix 100%  from the impulse loader :)

Here's the settings anyways:

I also had a slight high boost on the guitars bus's EQ.

Weird, I actually found it better with the mix about 60%. It seemed less bassy and scooped to me

I suppose you did a bit more EQing than I tried.

There's nothing wrong with experimenting on different levels of mix but normally it 'should' be set all/100% wet which means that all the sound comes 'from the speaker'.

The EQ is just some basic hi- and lo-pass, plus some notches to remove some 'fizz' and 'boom', nothing too fancy.

Maybe it was just that guitar (B tuned SG w/EMG 81+85); I just tried it with my Nailbombed Cort in C# and it sounds good at 100%

I know kride but I never judge on 'electronic' recording ways and getting hands on a caparison in France is pointless too :D. No one sells those.

As for reading I had feebacks on french board that esp were far beyond those in quality and building techniques. More mid range products, nothing high quality. Lets say 9 on 10 french caparison users were disapointed . But when I see your ones I just want to get one more and more. Seems very well built with nice woods and flawless finishing.

Nice clips - well played & produced.

They capture the differences between the 'Diver & 'Pig well - the differences I can hear between the Angelus & Horus clips match my own experience with these two pickups.  Good stuff... :)

i quote antag... you captured well the different character of the two pickups. and - OF COURSE - the mighty pig wins hands down!
