Title: black dog is dark/smooth?

incorrect. its pretty sharp and grinding. while it may not be as bright as some it is certainly not a dark/smooth pickup. it is, however, awesome.

I have mine very close to the strings, it kills!

oh hell yea. its a great $%&#ing pickup its just sharper sounding than i had read. im not complaining. im just staing a fact.
