Title: Pickups wiring problem (Tele with 3 single pickups).
Post by: cembo on August 29, 2010, 04:18:52 PM
Hi guys.

I am having a little issue with my wiring so if someone can help me out with it would be great. Recently I have bought bridge Piledriver and middle & neck Suites. I have Tele with original three-position switch. I am going to put two additional switches which are Dimarzio EP1106 ON/OFF (replacing useless tone control pot) and Push/Pull Pot EP1201PP (replacing original 250k pot). I want to keep original telecaster three-position switch because a have problem to avoid accidental switching to position 2 and 4 when i need to get quickly to middle position pickup. Unfortunately I have no experience with those things and if someone here can draw connections between those switches on my schema would be great. My idea is:

- original 3 position tele switch - simply to switch between those three pickups
- push/pull pot - switch to mode where tele switch can do pickups combination (1&2, 1&3, 2&3)
- on/off 2 position switch - if it stay unused, it can be used to switch some pickups in to series mode

... thank you guys ...

Having all these wiring options can be cool, but theres a risk of getting lost with all the combinations - typically the classic ones are the best anyway.

I would wire it with the 3 way switching: bridge -> bridge+neck -> neck

and then use the push/pull to bring in the middle pickup

... thanks gwEm ... i have already wired them. Pos1 - bridge , pos2 - mid, pos3 - neck and push/pull for combination. Mid pickup is reverse wired and it blends with other two pickups, but it seems to be not canceling the humm ...
