What pickups should I get for an Ibanez 7 String with a mahogany body, maple top, bolt on maple neck and rosewood fretboard and a tremolo?
I am pretty much set on a Cold Sweat Neck because I just loved this pickup in every guitar I played it in but I am not sure what to get for the bridge. All I know is that I don't want a Miracle Man and any kind of warpig...
I play through a Peavey 6505 and a Marshall Vintage30 cab and I play some modern thrash metal and Melodic Deathmetal.

cold sweat set

I assume the Cold Sweat can deliver a Nevermore-kinda sound since Chris Broderick used the Cold sweat in his RGAs?
-
well, jeff loomis was always the dominant part of the tone, but yes, it works for nevermore
it's not a big sounding pickup in near standard tunings, but it gets very growly in lower tunings without getting boomy

Well it is a very clear but not particularly big sounding guitar (with the DiMarzio Evolution that is) but I guess I will try the Cold Sweat first and see how it works out for me... it's the only contemporary BKP I haven't played yet!

i have cold sweat set in my ibanez 8527 j-custom and bridge pickup needs more mids-less bass, maybe something like painkiller.

The Painkiller has more mids but also more bass than the Cold Sweat...
I already had a set of Painkillers in a 7-String (however in a cheaper S7420). It was nice and tight but not really 100% what I was looking for but that could also have been the guitar itself.
How would a Holy Diver perform in a mahogany/maple top Sevenstring?

not really
the cold sweat has a thicker bass
the painkiller sounds fuller on the low and center mids

Out of interest, why not a miracle man? I think that'd be a pretty good match for your guitar and stated influences...
-
I have a miracle Man set already and I have tried it in several guitars and I never liked it in mahogany guitars with maple tops (be it a Les Paul Custom or an Esp Eclipse custom)...
Don't get me wrong the Miracle Man is awesome in my Gibson Gothic Explorer but I wan something with more mids and less low end because the MM tends to be a bit bass heavy on drop tunings IMHO.

Fair enough!
I'm just a bass whore :)

Bass is great to have but I don't want it to overpower
