yeah, it really was great.

apparently the tour also runs in reverse from kathmandu to delhi - but that seems crazy to me now.

The big Indian cities near the start were indescribably crazy. I was told before i went that i would love it and hate it at the same time and that makes a lot mroe sense to me now... but things seemed to really calm down and get more peacefull towards the end of the tour.   I am not sure i would go back to the Indian cities in a hurry  but the small town or Orchha was somewhere i could easily spend a week or two, as was most of Nepal out of Kathmandu (although kathmandu is quiet compared to Varanasi!!)

i was not looking forward to things like a 13 hour journey in a sleeper train... and it was very basic.  but in the end that was probably the best nights sleep i had on the tour and i only spent two hours of it awake

I'm not a traveller, but it's great to see it second hand!

Lots of marvellous architecture!  :D

a group tour may be the thing for you then philly.  everyone just accepts you whatever and all the difficult travel bits are made much easier and you can always choose to go along with the group or do your own thing by yourself as much as you like

when we made it to delhi we were quite shellshocked by it all - but meeting up with the group made it all a lot easier

i hate flying and this is the most i did since i was 8 years old.  never stopped me flying but i do find it impossible to relax on planes :?
