Anyone got any good pics of green or green burst guitars with nice tops? Extra points if they're a green to yellow burst. I'm looking for as many reference pics as poss. Bit tired of trawling google images! This kind of Apple Tizer vomit finish.

there's a nice one on the eggle forum page... http://www.patrickeggleguitars.org/

What about a Warmoth Dragon Burst? Maybe not quite lurid enough?

Ta! The yellow in the Warmoth is hot
-
all it needs is to loose the black 3rd colur edge, or exchange it for a darker green and its there
as i said elsewhere, the natural wood colour plays a large part in these finishes so test are needed
-
yea? all the pics seem to be of quilts too, not seen any flames, really.
-
it seems to be one of those colours used to emphasise wood porn.... hence lots of quilt
if you have a wood that looks good natural it wil work well with this finish whever its quilt or flame, but since quilt seems to be stronger when natural it works well with quilt
...
and its tastless like an overly strong quilt, they are made for each other :P
(currently maiking something with very strong quilt and ocean burst - but the blue makes it infinately more tastefull ;) )
-
I like quilts a lot more than flames.
In some ways they look even more blingy, but they're also more individual. And I like the way they can sometimes look like water. :)
-
Looks good when you like quilt-extravaganza. But nowadays so many quilt-veneertops come from China, the whole thing seems to devaluate a bit, in my humble opinion. I find myself returning to plain tops, just simple, good wood.
-
ye, I know what ya mean but they are stuck to a pos guitar and upclose they aren't the same imo. I was unsure about flame v quilt before I started looking at pics but these colours really do seem to work best with quilt. The more tasteless the better :-p
-
here is a more tastefull version with similar colours

i think its the subtle transition between colours that make it work for me... a proper burst rather than different stripes of colour
-
I actually prefer the black edge around the green. Warmoth also did a turtle or tortoise burst.

Yeah, i really like the ones that look like water, especially with a blue- or ocean-burst finish. :D That's probably my all-time favourite finish on a guitar.
I'm not sure I'd say I prefer quilt to flame, I like both (and it depends on the guitar- some suit flames better, some suit quilts better)- but I do agree that sometimes it seems that once you've seen one nice flame top, you've seen them all...

Yea, that seems to be comon with these colours. The bursts are really savage with little blending. It's something I'll be asking for. The hammerheadshark cut out on that guitar is awesome :D

It will have black binding on the body, neck and headstock 8)
... a green headstock too!
Not sure on the back, though. Natty, black or more green?

No offence Lew. It's a stunning guitar and I like the quilt tops of the more expensive PRS's. I reckon your guitar is a real chameleon in the stagelights.

No offence Lew. It's a stunning showpiece. I like some quilt tops on the more expensive guitars like PRS cause they have more depth. I reckon your guitar is a real chameleon in the stagelights.

I'm confused! None of these are mine, just looking for reference pics for a future guitar :)

They're sometimes called Cariburst or Carrieburst. I remeber a discussion about this over at Project guitar so maybe have a search around there.
-
Ta. Someone said they were called Lizard burst, too - that threw up a few more images on google

A backwards one:

It's nice! Adam showed me that one too 8)

Sorry Lew, I thought the first was yours... You looked quite flashy on that picture
