Hey,
I've got a new 828 intrepid pro- maple through neck, mahogany wings-cepheus pups, tuning eaeadgbe
Clean tones are bit muddy down low and the clean tone lead playing kinda "ice picky" if words can describe it.
I play alot of styles - jazz and rock to metal <rarely metal>
I need a pickup that will warm it up abit and low end has to tighten up - i was thinking cold sweats
also i heard somwhere the pickups dont drop right in - anybody install these into their intrepid?
thx!proto

Dont know about the routing not fitting BK 8s, but cold sweats should be a good choice. You want all the brightness you can get with tunings that low just to keep things balanced on the low notes.
-
if the guitar has passives the BKPs will drop straight in its just if it has the actives that the route is different
-
thanks! - theiy are the cepheus passive - looks like blackdogs might be an option too
-
yeah i just looked on the agile site and the BKPs will fit without any problems

I could point out that simple physics will never allow the lows on your guitar to be really clear (isn't that guitar normally tuned to F# on the lowest string?), due to scale and so on, but I'll just second that recommendation about the Cold Sweat. You need the clearest and brightest pickup really.

This is true.
But the CS will give you the best fighting chance.
