Title: Bridge pickup in neck position
Post by: Mr. Air on September 17, 2010, 11:34:48 AM
Have anyone ever tried a bridge pickup in the neck position?

I got a Stormy Monday bridge just sitting in the cupboard and was thinking how it would sound in the neck of my LP that has a Nailbomb in the bridge.

I reckon that'll work well.  Usually, as long as the bridge is the same strength or hotter, as in your case, job's a good 'un.

Actually, on a lot of old Les Pauls the hotter PAF is in the neck position......

Yeah, I wouldn't put a high output humbucker in the neck position but with a Stormy Monday you should be absolutely fine.

I've done it loads of times with PAF type pickups and its absolutely fine.

Actually, even the P90 in the neck of my Tele is a bridge position one that was just lying round - use what you have to hand and all that.

Thanks a lot for your replies.

I'll have to put the Stormy Monday in the neck then when I can find the time.

It's not gonna be pretty though. Cherry burst LP, cream pickup rings, camo Nailbomb bridge and white open poled Stormy Monday neck  :?

But none the less a sight you don't see every other day.
