They look gorgeous.

If they brought them back as an Espirit model and not a Robbern Ford model. I'm a big Ford fan but he's using Gibson and vintage Tele's now.
-
just mention it over at the gear page, i'm sure there'll be a petition up and running in no time...
EDIT: I'm never too fond of symmetrical cutaways... because I'm so used to the bass-side horn being bigger than the treble, my eyes start playing tricks on me and I start to think that the treble horn is bigger than the bass one... Other than that, it looks nice. :)
-
I like them, they remind me of my old Ibanez AR300 I had back in the day.
-
Elliot's got one, not the Robben Ford models but an Esprit of some kind.
-
I was never sure about the cosmetic appearance of the body horns, but the model of guitar itself always sounded great on 'Robben Ford and The Blue Line' tracks and guest appearances. I love the fretboard , headstock inlay and detail though ! :)
-
They did sound incredible in the hands of R.Ford but also in some others ...I always wanted to try one but never found one...And they look good... 8)
-
wish they would bring back bluesbirds seen as they own Guild
-
there was a squier esprit for a while as well
-
hmmm....a fender that wants to be a gibson custom.....just doesn't work
-
Those remind me of these. Although I'm sure there are older ones without EMG's.
I really like double cut les pauls. I used to the the more stumpy horned gibson DC classic pro with the trapezoid inlays and gold top. i WISH i still had that guitar.

Here's my Esprit - with Mules.
I had Feline set it up recently, add an Earvanna nut, 550k pots and paper in oil caps and its both a bute and a brute. Unlike the Robben Ford's, the Esprits have a chambered alder body with the maple cap, so they have a slightly brighter jangle than a Les Paul - great for 60s blues rock.
-
The Esprits are sought after and well made. Why not doing something else than strats and tele's? The only drawback can be pickups. I understand they are quite dark. Well, there are BKP's to solve that issue.
-
Does anyone wish they would bring the Katana back? our ex singer has one (A Fender not the squire) and it plays like a dream but it's so flaming ugly...
-
I wishe they'd bring these back: the Fender Coronado.
Edit: pic didn't work.

And the Starcaster! But I suspect being semis, they're too expensive to produce on a budget. And they weren't successful first time around.
I've always had a bit of a soft spot for the Swinger/Musiclander, but I don't think there's much chance of seeing that reissued either!

Yes, but Warmoth has the Musiclander body and this Arrow headstock :P

Yes indeed.
But I think I'd probably go for a regular Strat headstock if I was going to build a Warmoth one.
-
musiclander very cool philly!
headstock reminds me of this:

Is that a Fender Katana, or just something very similar?
-
I would love to see Jazzmasters and Jaguars with a way better bridge and tremolo-system. That what is keeping me away me from these guitars now. Not the sound, I love the Jazzmaster.
-

well, it was meant to be a fender katana.. but it looks like a bolt-on neck, so its probably the squier one.

It still looks damn ugly, even being the first sight on it

Sorry Phill! Not sure of Strat, but I like the Jackson... Perhaps a tele...
-
I quite like the "Jackson", Fernando, but not sure about the pointy headstock.... I think a Kramer/hockey stick type might look better?
Strat headstock looks OK to me:

Do you like them? I actually considered buying one many years ago, but looking at them now they're pretty shiteous. They need the "V" cutout - as it is, they look too much like a balalaika! :(
-
i've considered katanas.. but i just don't like them enough. i don't think they look terrible, but the shape hasn't aged well. i'd rather get a hamer scarab or something.
edit: the fender version with the set neck looks a little nicer
-
Tele's just have the best shape, as have Strats. That's why those designs still rule.
-

by "Jackson" understand "Jackson headstock", I was lazy to write everything
Perhaps it would be nice with the Kramer head...
But I think with the Strat headstock it look too "nice guy" :?

yes, i'm not sure its right either, but to me it looks the best of the option posted so far.

It is but it's still goddamn ugly in the flesh. they do play well though, I'm not a fan of the System One Trem though, it's not overly stable but that could be down to wear on my mates katana as he's had it from day one and used to play it a lot.

That Musiclander makes me think of a BC Rich for a more reserved person. I don't like the Fender, but some of the Warmoth ones look nice.

That sounds like me....!
-
i'm ridiculously reserved and I have a bc rich... :?
Then again I don't actually play in front of anyone...
