That is nice...

But "found pix of an old guitar... " - are we talking "I was browsing on the web and found some pics of a cute old guitar"... or is there a more personal connection for you?

I'm assuming the latter... not sure I'd have got rid of it myself!

I was clearing out my cupboard under the stairs (I just filled the cupboard five years ago when I moved in and only got round to clearing it in the past couple of months), anyway... I found some pictures of old gear I had back in the 2000 - 2003 period and this LP Classic Plus was one of them.  It was a great looking guitar, the pictures really don't do it justice, but it never held a candle to the tone of my LP standard (which is still my main guitar after 16 years).

Other than pictures of old gear, I did find an old Shure Unidyne mic (predecessor to the SM57) that I thought was long gone - quite chuffed to find that treasure  :D

On the other side of the XLR connector on the Unidyne (inside the body of the mic), is a switchable impedance selector, which you can use to get more/less output with. Nice guitar as well! :)

aye, I saw that hi/lo impedance wiring on the Unidyne spec sheet for the 545SH - I think they come wired as lo impedance as standard - will A/B it with my SM57 and go from there.

that red LP classic + was a gorgeous looking guitar, quite light too (not a back breaker), but I couldn't get it to sound or play like my '90 standard that I still use today.  two LPs is one guitar too many, especially when its a £1600 guitar that ain't cutting it.
