Ok the tone is, to me, really cool.
The most widely known recording i can think of with an example of this tone is a really cheesey song from the eighties so please.... dont laugh.
Its the solo from the recording of George Thorogood's - Treat Her Right.
Thanks in advance to anyony that can help

George Thorogood uses a Gibson 225 I think. It is a hollow guitar with P-90 pickups. You will really need to use either a P-90 or a Mississippi Queen to get that type of tone. I don't really know the song you like, but he usually has that hot single coil sound which only a P-90 gives.

:D Hi JP love George Thorogood !!!
A great player, George use`s semi`s loaded with P90`s. i`ve seen him playing through different amps over the years Fender, Marshall, Matchless etc. He likes to drive his amps. If you`ve got a modest gain amp turn the gain up to about 50% [ adjust as you go along ] He`s also Load :P Turn your amp up so that your really pushing it then adjust your gain again to suit. He tends to use open tunnings so this effects the tone he gets i think he tends to use open G tunning more often than not.
Don`t scoop out the middle George has a nice Full sound.
