position 1 & 2 on strat, bass maybe a bit loud but thats the price of low tech
1st half clean, 2nd half crunchy
enjoy(or not!)

Your clips are great!

thanks tom, i do worry that recording on my field recorder with cr@ppy backing makes them a bit of a botch, but
hell , it's a guitar forum not a recording forum! anyway thanks again

I think the way you do it works perfectly for the purpose.
What amp did you use on this?
-
thanks toe-knee, i used my engl screamer 50 combo on clean/ crunch, low vol hence the picking noise, heavy
breathing etc.it's a great all round amp with the footswitch....keyboard does the backing
tascam drd2 records with internal mics.
next year i'll look at 'recording' for big boys!

you can get a decent pc/mac recording setup really cheap nowadays about £250 tops for a sm57 interface and reaper and youll be good to go.
Im surprised at those cleans being from an Engl ive always experienced them to be quite sharp and a bit to clinical on the cleans, then again ive only ever played througha fireball and a powerball.

toe knee, the engl cleans are particularly good, i even use the bright switch but back off the treble to about
10'o'clock, bass 9'o'clock and mid 3'o'clock.all the controls on my guitar full out as i can never remember
to change them as i concentrate on my playing(i'm not a natural)
the recording set up you mention is what i'll look into, but it's more of a learning curve than a cost
thing as i've virtually no IT skills.thanks for your suggestions.
cheers tellboy :D
