Title: Miracle Man in my Explorer!
Post by: stephen78 on October 08, 2010, 05:32:28 PM: Finally got this installed in my Explorer. Cream with gold screws/slugs. It sounds absolutely amazing! I had posted a thread a while ago asking what pickup would get me some good Down (NOLA album mainly) type tones, and a lot of you suggested this. I'm usually not a fan of ceramic pickups, but I'm really digging this one! It's getting me the exact tones I was looking for. Thanks again for all your help! Here are some pics:

I don't own that model anymore, but my bandmate uses my ex-miracle man set and his tone is always great through most amps
we have a couple Down-like songs as well

explorers sound HUGE

The MM seems like a perfect fit, I'll probably do the same when I finally get around to buying an explorer :lol:

+1 and tonewise, I suppose the MM / Explorer is a pure chug chug heaven :lol:

Cold Sweat and Man work so well in such guitars (Painkiller too)

Well said. It just depends on the music you play. I would put VHII's or Mules in it. Or Rebel Yell's, don't know if they do the trick in an all mahagony guitar.
