£170 for that head with reverb - great price!

Whoa, that sounded really nice.

These little amps are really getting great tools.

I've also read about the new ENGL gigmaster, which can be reduced to 1 Watt with the built-in power soak. Also very tasty:

They are pre-order only at present - due out mid-November apparently - very nice though aren't they? Going on my Xmas list!  Question is combo or head...???

Yep - just called into Project Music in Exeter - they are due in mid-November. They have ordered the reverb models only (head & combo) as they think they are better value. Would definitely consider putting one on my Christmas list subject to having a try on one. Would go for the reverb combo for ease of mobilty - and use a Cornford 1x12 cab when I want a bit more oomph.

One thing that I have noted is that there is no (obvious) 8 ohm cab from Blackstar - bit of an oversight me thinks...

"full valve amp"? Is that the term they're using now? EDIT: that sounded pretty good, it's their marketing I don't like.   :? EDIT #2: Not too fussed on the higher gain tone, but the cleaner tones were pretty nice.

Blackstar now launched a 4 x 8" cab to go with this amp - £160 from Andertons - looks nice but I would still prefer a solid 1x12" cab

Well that's a very impressive little box of tricks and no mistake. The clean sound is terrific, nice tight bass, the overdrive is a bit fizzy but significantly better through the 4x12.

For £200 you can't argue, they'll sell like hot cakes.

I like it!  As always, small, simple amps appeal to me.

I like it - need something more portable for when the twins arrive so may go for something like this or, shudder, a self build WF55 model from ampmaker.

I had the same problem with the HT-5 in that they only did a 1x10. So I asked Martin to make me a matching 1x12. Works magnificently with it.

Just bought myself a HT-1R combo. Very nice. I probably won't be posting clips though as I am quite possible the worst guitarist on this forum.

EDIT
I don't understand why they bothered releasing a version without reverb!

We could have a guitar duel to prove who is the most worthy of that title!

Got one (Combo with reverb) from Mrs Tellboy as a Christams pressy so have been using it for about 5/6 weeks. As I have 2 handwired Cornfords was not expecting too much. Pleasantly surprised - clean channel good (not as good as clean channel on the Hellcat) - drive channel some good sounds available, the amp has been voiced well for the 8" speaker but at higher settings, not surprisingly, can sound boxy and bass gets flubby (sweet setting for me is with gain and volume on about 1 o'clock). Cleans up when winding guitar volume back and Les Paul, SG, Tele and Strat all sound like they should. Great for practising and recording - and at £199 great price.

Probably a fair bit tougher than my Les Paul Juniors (physically, if not sound-wise.....)

And you have a weight/reach advantage....

I might have to surrender.  :(

(But I still think I'm the worst)

I saw the ltd edition HT5 stack with the Artisan series style red cabs/trim today. It looks really wicked.
