Title: The youth of today....
Post by: tomjackson on October 24, 2010, 05:48:21 PM

Have no taste in music.  Somebody has broke into my car and taken nothing.

I have Stevie Wonder, SRV, Neil Young, John Butler Trio, Feetwood Mac CD's amongst others and they have not taken a single one!

I am mildly offended

It could even be the same scum that broke into my shed recently and did not steel my excellent Dahon fold up bike.

The cheek of these people!

about 10 years ago someone broke and left all my CDs as well, which included several motorhead albums. they hardly took anything in fact, but left a big mess.

sorry to hear about your misfortune.

Maybe they weren't young.

Good point.  What with the state pension only being what it is you never know.....

No offense (and sorry to hear about the break-in!), but if I were a thief I don't think I'd have stolen any of that stuff either, and I'm not young :)

I knew that was coming!  I suppose if my Telecaster was in the boot you would have left that too (or worse!)

Well yes it's nothing to do with age really, there was other stuff too but whoever it was was probably just looking for Sat Nav's or cash.

I've a good idea who it was actually but shite happens so going to let it lie.

He would have hijacked your car just to run it over. Then replace it all as if it never happened.

I remember Youth Of Today, and (more so) Shelter.

But don't mention any music from the last 15 years, then I definitely won't get it!

Shelter... haha. oh man. I have some shelter wax somewhere. picture disc of one of their bad records no doubt. I listened to Shelter a lot when I was working in India. and a bit of 108 and Cro-Mags. just because of the religious links to the place i was at...

I didn't think they were vegan at that stage. just veggie.

Militant veganism came a bit later

hey man, honestly... Shelter... they did pile on the cheese with Ray Cappo's rap parts in later records.

I saw the Cro Mags at the Clarendon in Hammersmith (was it called that?) - they were pretty awesome.  I also saw DRI in Stevenage when they were attacked by skinheads - now that was a night  :?

Cro-Mags are awesome. I'm not so keen on seeing them now.
you know 'they' started touring again? minus Harley.
It's usually a good line up if you're into hardcore bands but I've never REALLY wanted to check them out live. I think it would just feel weird.

When my car was broken in they left the Bon Jovi and the Genesis CD behind.

I guess it means I'm really old.  :(

Yeah. I have to say I'm mildly offended when someone's broken into and they assume it's "those damn kids".

My mate just had his house burgled on Friday.
They took a digital camera and £60. They left all his guitars and 200 Euros which I can only presume they thought was monopoly money - they actually took it out of a draw and then left it.

This gives me some hope that if it ever happens to me, they will stupidly take the Xbox rather than my pedal board / amps / guitars.
