Hallo,
must the output of an humbucker show different readings on a multimeter when using the split coil option? I can read about 15Kohm on a Painkiller in both serie and split options, something's missed in wiring?
Thankz

Hi - that does't make sense to me; ohms is a measure of resistance, and the more winds a pickup has the more resistance it'll show.
But there are far greater experts kicking around here, I'm sure they'll put me right.
Mark.

Definitely something wrong with the wiring. Should read around 7.5k in split mode. Have you followed the correct BKP colour wiring code? To split the PK the green and white wires should be connected together to a SPDT switch which will ground the 2 wires when switched (assuming you have wired the appropriate switch tag to ground - if you haven't wired the tag to ground, the pickup will not split when the switch is operated).
The red wire is connected to the pot tag and the black wire to ground (usually pot casing)

Ok problem solved,
it seems the switch used fails in the contacts: green and the white didn't go to ground, changing it now I can read 7.5K ohm when split option engaged...
Thankz again
