I've been sat here all morning trying to decide between the two so give your votes as to which you think would suit best.
Thanks

Plain Black - no holes would get my vote, would look sleeker (if that makes sense)
Out of interest, how do you find the RGD, playability wise, as I’ve been looking to pick up a relatively cheap 6 string to play with while I start the ridiculously slow crawl towards saving for a custom guitar and only have a 7 string Ibanez ATM

I absolutely love it.
It feels great the slightly extended scale is a lot more comfortable to me than a normal 25.5 and the neck is really nice and fast as you'd expect from a wizard II.
The trem is also extremely stable, i was worried about this with all the bad write ups all over the internet but its far better than most other trems ive used.
But the bad write ups must be for some reason so i guess theres abit of inconsistency with them so i'd definitely recommend trying a few first.

Thanks for the Info, I think i'll track down as many as i can find to play, looking predominantly at the hardtail version, if only it was white, maybe i'll try the trems and see how i get on
.

See that was my problem i wanted the hardtail one as i love the gibralter standard on my RGA and rarely use a trem but i wanted the white one.
A tremelno or a bit of wood can solve the hardtail needs tough :)

black with double row of black allen bolts.
edit, or better, white allen bolts! Don't think they're currently an option tho

If it was an explorer i would go with something like that but i dont want the polepieces showing on this one. No idea why i just have a feeling it wont look right
-
plain black, bec the rest of the guitar is not battleworn.
-
Plain black..... unless you change the trem arm for a chrome one, then pole pieces.
-
Light battle worn covers would give the guitar some mojo :D
-
Plain black covers? Nooooooooo.
-
Plain black covers? Nooooooooo.
why noooo?
-
They just don't look good. At all.
-
I'd go with the lightly-battle-worn black covers (no polepieces) I think it would give just enough mojo, besides, the plain black ones would just look like EMG's
-
I'll throw a new one into the ring, black covers with black slug polepieces?
-
hmmm, yeah that might look cool, I saw a pic somewhere on this forum of a set of black warpigs with black polepieces, those would actually look pretty killer I think...
-
I'd vote for plain black covers as the rest of the guitar is sleek, clean and modern. I think it would suit best.

Well i am planning on having some engraving on them anyway so they wont look too emg like.
And im also thinkingof the possible resale value as this pickup choice is a complete stab in the dark mainly out of curiosity and because the cold sweat doesnt cut it once i play my RGA that has the MM
So i don't want anything too outlandish i may even just get an open coil one

I've actually got this exact guitar. What pickup did you get, and have you any pics? Also how do you find the Miracle Man in your RGD? I never thought it would work well in a Basswood body/Maple neck, compared to something like a Les Paul

It actually works incredibly well in the RGD.
However im currently using a matched pair of aftermaths in there now and its just an absolutely perfect match
i will get some pics up tomorrow for you if you like.

If it's between battleworn black and plain black, plain black would get my vote.

Yh definitely :) I actually never even thought of putting Miracle Man p/us in Basswood. That's something I'm definitely going to try. Time to get my soldering iron out :P

I was going to say the new Tyger covers would look good on that guitar.........
Then I noticed that the thread is a year old
