hi guys, an attempt here to show this remarkable humbucker.it's so good clean i thought i'd try the littlewing intro which is strat /single coil territory normally.
tokai les paul, stormy monday AII neck, engl screamer, tascam field recorder, no effects.

Very nice indeed ! That is a lovely sounding pickup, getting very much into single coil sounding territory there .
How does it sound with a bit of overdrive ? Any clips ?
-
thanks ronnie, it's an incredible clean sound.i'll do a post overdriven a bit later, it's equally stunning.when i first
started looking at neck hb's, for some reason i never looked at the sm's.i think it's because i thought
the AII magnets would make it sound dull or something.au contraire, it's got plenty of bite for
a neck but with all the warmth and depth you'd expect.it's the dog's bollocks 8)
now if i could only play this intro properly!

I really enjoyed listening to that. :)
Both the playing , and the effort you put into showcasing the 'live' tone - made an excellent demo of a great ( and often overlooked ) pickup ! 8)
I find the Alnico II Stormy Mondays are also a great 'all rounder' at the sweeter / tasteful end of the range too. I enjoyed them for Rock / Blues in a Les Paul some years ago - and now they do a great job in an Ibanez Jazzer. SMs remain my favourite 'mainstream' B.K.P. pickup so far ; even though I enjoy all I've tried. :)
Thanks for recording a Solid Body guitar / Live amp / minimally processed demo - as was very much needed. :)

thank You ff, least not as it was one of your recent posts that drew me to it.(sm that is)
