The production is better than DM and hetfields vocals are sounding a lot better than they have been lately

Its one of the most unpleasing types of music on the ear.
I can admit the players are immensely talented but the music is just not well its not musical

i'd hardly call amorphis or haggard unmusical.. or amon amarth either .. or opeth
some black metal though... that shite's just vile :P

I cant really name bands as its what my old housemate used to listen to and i couldnt distinguish between one band with insanely downtuned guitars with bad tone & terrible vocals and production from the other.
But each to there own eh?

I wasnt knocking it as a whole just from my perspective.
Its one of the styles of music i could never enjoy.
I do however love the solos that necrophagist do.
But im not sure what category they come under but the rest of there songs are a huge mess to me.

oldish hip hop is great Jeru The Damaja, De La Soul, Mobb Deep, The Roots, Jurasic 5, the MIGHTY Wu-Tang Clan!

I agree with "insert word" core bands. But death metal can be really good. Metalcore is just recycled riffs with generic breakdowns, so i agree with you there. I have a friend who listens to that stuff and I just cant get into it, it doesnt flow, and when it does its open palm muting the entire song...
