hi guys,
was mucking about this morning and remembered an old be-bop deluxe song that i played 'quite a while ago'. decided to make a quick recording of what i remembered and here's the result. no excuses or apologies for the quick 'n' dirty recording mind you (and the arrangement is prolly quite different too!)
anyway, here it is:
http://www.eventdriventhing.com/music/heaven%20delux-02.mp3
Equipment used:
PodXTLive
Amplitube
Shine 335 dot (stock cr@p pups - awaiting mules)
Cubase SX2
Sampler with multisamples built up over the years
BBE sonic maximiser
enjoy..

That guitar should sound very good with Mules. It would be nice if you did the same song with the Mules, when you have them so we can compare.
Cool song, great for that guitar.

Ratrod,
that's the intention - to just redo the two guitar parts once i have the mules installed and make a comparison. i know from my experience with my tele (country boys) that it makes such a HUGE difference, so i'm looking fwd to hearing the mules in the 335, even tho' i 'knda' like the current tone.

Sounds interesting--and that's a compliment, coming from me! There isn't much in the way of interesting guitar playing out there these days. I especially like the riff you play at the very begining.
But I thought be-bop was more jazzy?

I will be looking forward to the next clip then. :D

ironic really - i 'dropped' interesting guitar playing for about 10 years as i went in search of 'interesting' (but safe 'pop') song crafting...
my main fortune is that i've got no clue who ynergie or zak (the misspellings are a clue) are to be perfectly honest. in fact i seldom listen to guitar oriented music... in my own wee world really - lol
good or bad point - debate :)

Well I liked it a lot and I actually thought the sound was great too- so it will be interesting to hear the same thing once you have your BKPs. I have similar thoughts to you regarding music. I love guitar ( no kidding) though the music I listen to mainly is not what you would call guitar focused though obviously it is a feature as it is the instrument ( along with bass) I identify with and have supplemented my income with.

38,
glad you identified with where i'm coming from. i suppose i should make it my new year's resolution to listen to some more technical guitar guys - i really should but prolly won't. :)
my influences early on were lowell george, bill nelson, alvin lee, steve howe a guy called mick davenport from a liverpool band called nutz (no-one ever really heard of them) (oh, and for vibrato, paul kossoff of course) and later on, francis dunnery (remember It Bites??). since the early nineties, i've been more involved with dance music and pop type stuff [oh the shame of it :D] but over the past year or so, have been dusting off my guitar again and have sort of rediscovered my 'signiture sound/style' (for want of a better expression). perhaps not listening is the best way....
seasons greetings all.
