this thing is an absolute beauty and the condition is amazing for the age of the guitar it obviously hasn't been played much or has had a very good restoration.
I wish it wasn't so close to christmas :(
-
Tasty- the body is Sen (an oriental variety of ash), which was also used on the 70s Ibanez Destroyer (Explorer) that Van Halen used on the first VH album
It's a lovely guitar
-
Its when things like this pop up that i consider making credit card purchases which i shouldn't.
But it's so damn tempting as they never hardly crop up never mind in condition like this.
-
That is nice, I suspect it will shoot up quite a bi in price before it closes
-
yeah they generally do.
I wish i never sold my rocket roll II.
That's the only guitar i ever regret selling
-
If you're into V's, this one is a beauty. Maybe gwEm wants to place a bid.. :D

I hope he does to be honest.
Not being able to get it myself i'd rather it go to someone on here then at least theres a tiny chance i could buy it at a later date if they get sick of it.... doubt they would though
-
somebody block this page from gwEm, he needs no more Vees, ha ha.
it is a seriously nice guitar, exactly the kind of Vee I'd like myself one day.
-
I do like these lawsuit rocket rolls, they usually fetch quite high prices though and I'm still paying for that '79. It is a sweet guitar I have to say.
-
It's a nice one! I've gone off Vs a little bit in recent years, but I would still like a "1958 korina" style V at some point.
Not so keen on importing nowadays, with the current not-so-great exchange rates. You see something at what seems a good price, but with shipping charges, VAT and import duty you can be adding as much as 40% to the basic price. :(

really? it was quite nice.. but it had a lot of down sides

it did but overall i really enjoyed it.
I think the main reason was that it sounded so good with the Miracle Man. It just seemed like a match made in heaven.
The main thing i disliked was the neck got a bit too thick towards the higher frets compared to the lower.
I'm tempted by those newer ones but the tail makes it look like a can opener

$1600...
-
Wow thats the highest ive seen one of those go for.
Then again they arent generally in that good condition

I've seen them go for more, they seem to have a cult status. I wonder how the Sen affects the sound.
-
I bet its definitely an interesting sound.
i have never come across one in person to judge it though.
My Rocket ROll II was basswood

Here's another one:
