Title: alternative drum plugins
Post by: adamj on November 25, 2010, 12:30:00 PM
for a while iv been recording my guitars, bass etc DI'd into a friends laptop loaded with EZDrummer and so far it has been working brilliantly. My problem is soon due to said friend moving away and taking the computer with him I wont have any drum program to go with my intense megariffs.
I have already got myself a copy of Reaper, and my own USB interface with a single input/output so i will be able to record. However i got no more money to spend on gear after buying loads of pedals last month :)

I love the ezdrummer interface, the idea you can drag and drop beats and edit them simply in the midi editor with a click here and there. Is there any other program you can get which is similar, hopefully for free? i know its a long shot.
Just having a quick look through KVRaudio but nothings jumping out at me...

I've experimented extensively with free drum sequencers. They all suck balls. Big, hairy donkey balls.

No, nothing will give you the same funtionality and sound as EZdrummer for free.

to be fair, most of those drum sequencers are designed for making banging techno, rather than rock
