Title: Newcomer looking for hi gain tone

Hey all, lone star greenhorn here lookin for some good pups to put in my dean razorback. Thing is, I wanna get a real scorchin tone you know? A friend posted me this video here, and now I know the sound aint that good but it sure is what I'm in the mood for

and do you know what type of guitar that is hes got there? I was thinkin about getting them VHIIs but somebody told me this guy plays with Mules?

I think you should think more of it in terms of what guitar/pickup combo will work for that tone. What guitar do you have?

It didn't sound like a particularly vintage tone to me, which is what I'd associate with Mules. It sounds to me like you're looking for a Miracle Man.
