Comfortably Numb live.
If I could play like anyone, it would be Gilmour. He's the reason I picked up the guitar at 11 years old. Amazing.

I certainly agree ! :D
I was at Earls court for the original 'The Wall' tour - and 'Pulse'. The later being the favourite, due to D.G. extending it all with such subtlety ( oh - and the giant animated mirror ball 'trick' ). I thought I'd died and gone to heaven when he rolled that gem out. A deceptively adaptable player, from the jagged magnificence of 'Dogs' , 'The Fletcher Memorial Home' , 'Run Like Hell' e.t.c - to the languid beauty of Wish You Were Here , and the hybrid gems such as this and 'Sorrow'.
Dam fine ! :D
Thanks for posting that timely reminder Steve.

My Dad was at Earl's Court for The Wall too. I envy him because of it as The Wall is probably my favourite album by them. I was considering going to see Roger Waters perform The Wall but it's £85 a ticket which is a bit much when not all the original members are in attendance. Maybe I'll catch Gilmour if he ever tours again.

I must be the only person who does not like that song!
Much prefer the playing and songs on Meddle, Dark side and Wish you were here.

He is a fine melodic player in my view and I enjoy hearing him.

Nah I'm with ye. I think The Wall is their weakest album, and whilst his playing is still great, it's one of their weaker albums guitar-wise, too.

Same as me Tom. A Pillow of Winds is probably my favourite PF track. First heard it whilst out walking my dogs with the sun rising on a summer morning. Funny how surroundings make you react differently to songs, if it had been in a different environment I may not have liked it as much.

+1 on this.

I love The Wall, but that's probably because it's the only Pink Floyd album I bought brand new on the day of release (at an impressionable age!).
I didn't really hear much of their other stuff until later.

i think we all have our own particular Pink Floyd moments. I first heard Ummagumma and Meddle on my old Dansette and was at, what it was then called, the Empire Pool Wembley to see them perform Dark Side. Dark Side was the soundtrack to many a moments mischieve at the parties of the time... ahh memories
