Hey guys, I've always been interested in BKP's and was planning to fit a Painkiller into my bridge by the end of the year. Then suddenly this crazy deal came along and I'll be getting a Sinner (21.5k) tomorrow in exchange for my Schecter Monster Tone pickups plus a bit of extra cash.
Now, I'm a guy who won't say no to extra output, put I'm just wondering, is the Sinner too high output for a middle positioned single coil?
A brief about my guitar - ESP The Mirage, ash, HSS configuration, rosewood fretboard, Wilkinson LS-100 bridge, Sperzel tuners :D
So anyway I'm wondering, how will this be like? Painkiller in the bridge and Sinner in the middle. That would make it a HHS config (essentially, no?)
What do you guys think? Will it be a bad idea?
And yes, I love heavy stuff. But I need at least one position for a clean tone (for blues, and gospel etc.)
Should I put my Sinner in mid or neck? And then I'll get something else for a cleaner tone.
Will the Sinner be able to do clean? (just curious :D)

Erm, that's going to be pretty nuts. You can try it, but it will be far from ideal. If you give it a go you probably ought to keep it fairly far from the strings or you could run into magnet pull issues.

Maybe Trilogies are a better choice.

Ehh.. Pretty nuts hmm? Please elaborate xD HAHAHAHA!

Well, I should imagine it would be extremely overpowering in the neck position, and not much less in the middle.
The stock middle and neck Sinners are 15kΩ, and those can keep up with the ceramic Warpigs without much issue.

I have a bridge sinner in the neck position, we're talking about full power! The 21K sinner :D
And it was actually surprising how awesome it sounds in clean. Its soooo thick, insanely THICK for a single :)
It matched so well with the c-pig :) hehe XD

Let's just say I put the sinner in the neck and the Painkiller in the bridge. What should I put for my middle then?
-
I'd get a Sinner middle for that.
-
I would hesitate to do it as well

I finally got the Sinner, and I put it in the neck.
And yes, I concur, its amazing how nice the cleans sound.
When overdriven, they don't give you the vacuum-type sound you can get from Suites though, instead, they give you full on power you sometimes need for solos. And harmonics jump off your fingers easily.
And the sustain is really good.
So yes, overall its not a bad idea to put a bridge Sinner in the neck.
:D

Nice to hear it's working for you though :D
