Title: New Trilogy Suite Day!

Yes, more pickup loveliness for Mr Bump!

Forgotten how much I loved my Charvel - it's the accoustically loudest and most resonant guitar I have, and the Nailbombs in it are great, but they don't really fit with the music I'm playing right now.

So!  Enter Trilogy Suite, with baseplates on the bridge and neck!

Old Charvel...

New Charvel!!!

Initial impressions - really good!  Definitely likes the red channel on my Egnater!  Positions 2 and 4 sound incredible, really amazing - like nothing I've heard before.  Very warm, but cutting too.  Very thick, there's a definite humbucker quality to them.  Haven't explored the cleans very much yet, still tidying up tools.  Will post a clip when I can.

:)

Mark.

Awesome, the Trilogies are a wicked set of pickups.
Did you get the RWRP middle?

Yeah, RWRP.  Virtually silent in position 2 & 4!

Wicked, yeah position 4 should be more or less 100% hum cancelling. Plus you get the nicely notched midrange on those positions which sounds great clean

Congrats! Classic looks now, but with ooommph in the singlecoils. Great for Blackmore-stuff.

Looking at the pictures, I'm just slightly worried that you're going all Hank Marvin on us....

^ I know... I've always been shitee when it comes to aesthetics and design...  Maybe I should have gone for black covers?

Been playing with them a wee bit more - they're so different to what I'm used to.  They do cleans really well, very thick sounding and not particularly traditional, and they sound AMAZING through the red channel on my Egnater.  Trying to find the right settings for a crunchier sound at the moment.

Very interesting pickups.  InCREDIBLE 2 & 4 position - really to die for.

Be sure to mess with the volume knob  8) Those pickups pack a punch, but can also sound much more 'traditional' when you back the volume a bit on the guitar.

Aye, the volume control is important - but there's still a VERY contemporary vibe to these things, even with the volume backed off.

Yeah, they pack a definite midrange wallop that is there no matter where the volume is! I also have the BKP 62-set in another strat and the difference is clear :)

Looks loads better now IMO :D (but remember I have a Fiesta Red strat, and I tend to play Apache, Atlantis, FBI, etc, quite a bit )

Interesting hearing about the Trilogies - never considered anything above ITs before, but this sounds kinda interesting...
