Title: BEST/ MOST INTERESTING STOMP BOX 2010 - GAS
Post by: asianaxeman on December 05, 2010, 09:46:42 PM
Hey guys I'm looking for a crazy new addition to my pedal board which currently is quite simple setup for which I  can do most things- digi rp 350 multifx pedal and bbe sonic stomp in the loop, double hotcake overdrive, alternating between Cantrell and Buddy Guy Wah and digi jamman for home practice.

I've basically got space on the board and had GAS for an exciting unique new pedal ...

Things that caught my eye so far are the lovepedal picklevibe and the Paul Gilbert Flanger...tc nova delay...

..can u guys suggest any new stuff that is awesome?!?

hmm could try any sobbat, strymon tape delay (if you can get the hold of one), rockbox boiling point, all boutique but the sobbats are very inexpensive.

also the new whirlwind pedals if MXR is your thing, not boutique prices at all, just made by the guy who designed the original mxr stuff.

i'm gassing one HTH's modded rat's right now, sound awesome, but it's on the end of a list of three or so things an amp being the first

Amptweaker Tghtboost. I really wanna know what they're doing in there. Maybe just a high-pass filter for the "tightness control".. Idk.

- Emma PisdyWaudot (or something like that). Handmade in Denmark. Great metalpedal on the cleanchannel. Metalizes even a whimpy strat.
- Rothwell Heartbreaker - overdrive
- Strymon El Capistan - tape delay - very nice
- Strymon Bluesky Reverb - the harmonics on the long settings are outer space.
- Keeler Designs Stretch Wah - the best I heard (saving for this one)
- Xotics Robotalk - amazing envelope filter
- Rockbox Boiling Point dis/ Red Dog - overdrive
- Retrosonic - stereochorus -  analog delay
- MXR M117-R - flanger
- Cmatmods - Signadrive and Super Sigma Drive (with boost)
- Effectrode - Delta-Trem, Phaseomatic, Tube Vibe, Vibra Chorus
- Barber Tonepress - the blendknob makes it a fine compressor
- Brunetti Mercury Box - great, fat overdrive
- Red Witch Titan - triple delay with modulation for spacey stuff
- Empress Superdelay
- Malekko Chicklet - reverb
- Carl Martin Trem-o-Vibe - dead silent unit, build like a tank, it's on my board fot eight years now

The picklevibe is cool, I'd go with that.  OR, since you're a thrasher, a Digitech Whammy is pretty out there with what it can do.  I love the old EH Electric Mistress too, great flanger.

Maybe an EH Graphic Fuzz - plenty fuzz tones in that one.

how do we get these pedals in the uk?

I agree with most things said.

A fuzz of some kind, e.g. a Fuzz Factory (hard to dial in though) or something with Octave.

Or a Whammy indeed, like said before, unless you feel you got that covered with the RP.

Robotalk is crazy shite. I also like the wah patterns on the voodoolab wahzoo, but you have 2 wahs already.

Yes the rp whammy works brilliantly and I love both wahs I have. I've decided on a double feature pedal like  the Davy knowles pedal or fulltone octave fuzz, but the latter appears to take up more board space . I need a fuzz with separate octave which can  cover  both Muse and jimi territory , don't want to spend a fortune on a fuzz factory though. The freekish blues pedals seem to stay really articulate . Still want a pickle vibe too , seems to sound awesome in front of an amp. Can anyone compare it to the bbe soul vibe?
