Title: Multiscale- pickup question
Post by: agentOrAnGe on December 07, 2010, 04:32:09 AM
I am ordering one of these http://www.rondomusic.com/pendulum7nat.html and was wondering if not having the slanted pickup will negatively effect the sound with a fanned fret multiscale. Will get around to changing it eventually, but cannot afford the guitar and pickup.

I don't have a slanted pickup in my multiscale baritone, and I don't see why you would *need* one :)

Cheers. WezV did a cracking job with it :)

look at it this way - if the bridge pickup is straight on a fanned fret then its going to give pretty similar results to a angled bridge pickup on a normal guitar (like a strat).

i like using a normal pickup as it allows a lot more options and i think it makes it looks less strange than having both angled frets and angled pickups

Ok, that makes sense. Thanks a lot for the quick replies. As soon as I have the cash I plan on dropping a C-bomb in the guitar.
