Title: Good techs to build a weber amp kit
Post by: Transcend on December 07, 2010, 09:26:10 PM
Ive been looking a lot at the Weber Heather (slo clone) kit and really don't think i'm up to the actual build.

Can anyone recommend a good amp tech/builder in west yorkshire?

I'm going to ask my mate James if he can take a crack at it but i know he hates working with PCB's so don't think he would be interested.

Thanks

i think the heather uses eyelet or turrets.
the layout doesn't suggest PCB at all.

the heather isn't quite the same as the sloclone schematic i don't think.
there is a sloclone turret layout for the main and power pcb's. that will fit in the heather chassis.

Ah cheers do you have any links? I will have a chat with James and show him the various options and see what he thinks is the best route to take as i know he'll want to be tweaking things along the way and switching components.

There should be a layout page on the forum with it in. I know the forum changed so it may be all over the place now.
I'll take a look later.
There are a lot of potential tweaks. Lots of component changes are straight forward. like slope resistor values and such. down to changing the loop level or if you want a loop at all. just examples. the forum is stuffed with ideas about what you can do. granted its a lot of info to sit and go through.
