Has anyone ever tried the neck or middle version of the sinners? If so how do they compare to the neck and middle trilogies?

I've tried a Sinner in the middle position, but I haven't tried of the trilogy suite pickups. I think it sounds pretty good, nice cleans that are quite fat for a single coil. That being said, if i could choose again i'd probably go for a more vintage-y pickup for the middle pos just for a more standard strat sound with the in between positions.

Sinners are made for humbuckingtones from a singlecoil. If you want some twang in the positions two and four, I would choose Slowhands. Fat, but with a vintagecharacter.

Telerocker, I disagree. I have a sinner in the bridge of my strat (that's why I didn't ask about it) and to me it still sounds like a true single coil pick up and when I have it combined with my irish tour in the middle (position four) I can get lots of twang.
Also, Rocklobster, was the sinner you played designed for the bridge position, but put in the middle or was it designed for the middle position?

I guess I expressed myself wrong. I meant designed to create output on par with contemporary hb's, so very hot. Interesting the Sinner still twangs, or it is mainly due to the IT in the middle? And how is the balance between the two since there is quite some difference in dc-resistance? Just asking bec I'm intrigued now and have only real experience with IT's and MM's.

Telerocker, The Sinner is very hot like you said, but still not as much as my Painkiller or Miracle Man and not as saturated or compressed. The sinner on its own has that bright sound, but I don't know if I would call it twangy, so I think the twang does come from the combination with the IT. As for the balance, there is definitely a volume difference when going from the sinner bridge to IT middle, but not when switching from bridge to bridge and middle. The volume difference is not huge, but definitely noticable.

Thx for sharing. The little volumedrop is thanks to the Sinner-coil, I reckon. Bright doesn't have to mean twangy in the classic strat- en telecasterway. I will listen to some Sinner-clips, but I can't imagine this the pu for classic clean tones.

The clean tones on the sinner may not be "classic", but still sound great and IMO as good as any strat pu out there. The cleans are chimey, rich, punchy, clear, and the bass notes are very well defined. Its cleans are not for everyone though.

I have a sinner mid and neck in my german made s100 shadow guitar, the sinner is amazing in the neck position, i have 9 other guitars, with dimarzio super distorions, air nortons, tone zones, pafs, hs3, hs2 and i also have seymour duncans full shreds and hotrail neck, also have various other pickups, And i can tell you the sinner kills them all there beyond good its insane for metal and neoclassical style solos. but it also cleans up really well,
i mostly use the neck and plan to remove the mid and use it another neck pos on another guitar, i also have the bridge of the model ready to go into something, maybe that would go well in the neck aswell haha, i like HSS setups,
I have showed them to a few friends and everyone agrees that there better then any dimarzio or duncan available,
