Title: Bridge humbucker suggestion for Am Standard Strat
Post by: FlorinGiuglea on December 13, 2010, 06:56:07 AM
Hi,
I'm looking for a BK pickup in the bridge position of my strat, that would suit the existing neck & middle pickups: Kinman Traditional MK I. Approximately 6.5K each.
Any suggestions are appreciated.
Thank you,
Florin

A Mule would be great, but a Crawler will do fine too. I have the Crawler in my strat and it is big, fat, warm with just enough topend. The Crawler has a hot-PAF-tone, but with extra output. The Mule is a 59-PAF-replica.

I was thinking either Mule or Black Dog.

Thank you, guys.
I'm after a medium output humbucker. I think The Crawler may be a little too much for me.

I should not worry about The Crawler being to much, cause in reality it behaves like a hot PAF. It's very smooth with a vintage character and this pickup cleans up well and splits very well too. It will do fine with the Kinman-middle. And it's great in alder and ash guitars. Fattens up the tone. Of course you can have a look at The Mule too.  That wouldn't be a bad choice either.
