hey,
I posted a simmilar question here before, but have done some more research since, and I absoloutly love the tones i've heard from the a-pig bridge and an emerald neck.
Thing is, I've no idea how they'll work together...
My guitar is a bc rich warlock neck-thru from 00', the body is magahony, not sure if the neck also, ebony fretboard.
I'll be replacing the stock BDSM (yep, thats how they call them :P ) pickups.
thanks in advance guys.

thats not a mix thats been discussed much! :) but i can see why you're thinking in that direction. you might like the normal warpig neck though, it has a good sweetness.

thanks for the reply man :)
I'm interested to see if we're really thinking in the same direction, please elaborate.
I did consider having calibrated pigs, but I want a neck that isn't very fat or dark. something akin to a warmer bridge pickup i can full chord on, and still has plenty of gain for smooth leads.
I heard the fourth clip on this page that was posted somewhere on the forums
http://www.netmusicians.org/index.php?section=user&value=musicscotty
was exactly what i'm looking for in a neck pickup.

In that case you might want to consider the Nailbomb neck instead - same wind as the Emerald neck but with an AV magnet for more punch and cut. The output drop shouldn't be too severe, and if anything will aid the definition you're after.

hey nolly,
I think you're right. some users commented on a medium output AIV pup not cutting through a mahagony body. and there is indeed the issue with output drop.
The nailbomb sounds amazing on leads, and is very versatile. It does sound akin to the emerald, but it has a certain modern compression I don't like. I've seen a user request Tim to make him a slightly brighter a-pig, which I'm all up for, so could he possibly make an AV higher output emerald neck pup?
