Here is a teaser trailer for the new Jag Panzer album (SPV / Sony) coming out next year in Feb

Every guitar part you here is 100% Bare Knuckle, specifically Rebel Yell, Holy Diver and Cold Sweat pickups. Christian and I (other guitarist in the band) tried every guitar we own and the guitars with Bare Knuckles sound MUCH better.
The BK tone is fat, saturated and organic sounding. I love that in a guitar tone.

Hi Mark,
Great to see you guys still making killer music!
(BTW, this is Ben from Twilight Odyssey/Phantom Isle)
-
Superb. Rock on
-
Sounds good, but the video is sure to induce some epileptic seizures in some viewers.
-
+1. Do I hear some echo's of Dio?
-
Ben! How are you doing? Things going well for you? What pickups are you mainly using? I've got Rebel Yells in most of my guitars, but I've got a set of Aftermaths that I pick up tommorow at the post office. Those are going in an old Dean Z.
Alex - I added a warning about the flashing images. I don't want anyone to have any bad experiences watching the video. Thanks for pointing that out.
Telerocker - Yep!! We are all HUGE Dio fans in the band, way back to the Rainbow years.
-
Cool sound man. Never got into you guys. Maybe it's about time I pick up an album. Any recommendations?
And why in the hell did that vid link me to this vid... This vid is better, BTW.

That solo for the Condemned to Fight excerpt was awesome! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ud6UYu2rYdE&feature=related
And that's just a Rebel Yell neck into the Marshall? A wee-bit of Yngwie on that solo.... :D It's good.

Thanks for the compliment on that solo! I'll pass it along to Christian (the guy that played it).
That solo is actually a Coldsweat neck into a Fractal Audio Axe-FX (recorded direct). We used Rebel Yells for rhythms and harmony guitar parts, but not for solos. Christian owns a Marshall that he was going to use for solos, but after hearing the Fractal, he did all solos with that unit. The patch used on the Fractal is based on a Marshall head.

Fractal Audio is taking over the world. I need to get a piece. I just listened to that solo again. The part where he goes, "Weedly deedly deedly HIGH Weedly deedly deedly LOW" It makes me smile. It sounds like he's having fun. =) Good luck with spreading the new album.

Hey Mark,
LOVE LOVE LOVE the sound! I actually got into you guys through a mutual acquaintance, my cousin Clint Barker. I hadn't heard any JP before he pointed me in your direction and this new material is insanely good! Glad you're using BKP's exclusively, just goes to show that you and Christian have exceptional taste in hardware. :D
Keep up the awesome work, I'll be grabbing myself a CD of this asap.

That's totally cool your cousins with Clint. He's a great bass player and overall cool guy.
I can't say enough about BKP. The tone, workmanship, quality, everything blows away every other pickup I've used. It's the difference between a decent tone and an amazing tone. I remember sitting in the studio last month listening to drum sounds getting mixed. It seemed like hours just getting the snare tone. The amount of time it took to mix a killer guitar tone? About 45 seconds. Seriously. And that's because of Bare Knuckle. I can't imagine recording with anything else.
-
Totally man! They made my bronze series Warlock sound like a guitar that could have cost a few hundred pounds more, heh.
-
Rainbow with Dio, those were the days. The influence is clear, but you guys took it to contempory terrority. Well done.
-
Fantastic man pure metal coolness!!! :D
-
album samples sound great
where can we hear the holy diver?
how about some raw guitar tracks? :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

+1
Great job, guys.
Are some of the rhythm guitars Axe FX as well?
-
I can post some raw tracks, I just need to clear it with our record company (should be no problem). I'll also get with Christian and ask him for the breakdown of Holy Diver / Coldsweat parts. My parts were 100% Rebel Yells, so no questions there.
Joaocunha - The rhythm guitars are layered 3 per side. 2 tracks of Engl Powerball and 1 track of Axe-FX. The Axe-FX is a model of a Deizel amp. The Axe-FX rhythm is designed to compliment the Powerball and fatten the whole tone. By itself, the Axe-FX rhythm lacks a lot of things, but combined with the Engl it sounds fantastic.
Edit (for clarification) - You can get a killer rhythm tone from just the Fractal Axe-FX, but that wasn't what I was going for. I really like the Engl for rhythm guitar but I wanted something to give it a little more punch. That's what the Axe-FX was used for. However, leads and harmonies were all Axe-FX.

Thanks so much for keeping us all in the loop Mark and we're all very excited to hear the new album - clips sound awesome!
-
A Powerball AND an Axe FX? Bloody hell, this is my perfect setup, hah! Just need a nice Korina bodied, 27" scale monster with a Painkiller bridge and that's my dream come true.
