I'm going to go out on a limb and guess that lots here will say they've not really listened to anything new this year, but for those that have, what's been your top ten? (it's actually not been as overwhelming an array of music as most years, I had to whittle down from about 25 this year, usually it's a lot more).
The Meads of Asphodel - The Murder of Jesus the Jew
Ramesses - Take The Curse
Deathspell Omega - Paracletus
Watain - Lawless Darkness
Electric Wizard - Black Masses
Fukpig - Belief is the Death of Intelligence
Enslaved - Axioma Ethica Odini
Triptykon - Eparistera Daimones
Celeste - Morte(s) Nee(s)
Negura Bunget - Virstele Pamintului
However, my favourite song of the year has probably been this:

My New Years resolution for 2011 will be to check out some of the bands you listed.
Listened to the Ghost track. Like the music, but the lyrical content sucks, to me. I don't get the whole "Satan is good" thing... Satanic rock seems a little self defeating, if you know what I mean. I'm not a religious man, but if I was I suspect that I wouldn't be rooting for Beelzebub...

I don't think I've even heard let alone liked a whole 10 albums from this year  The only ones that come to mind are:
The Pretty Reckless - Light Me Up
Ellie Goulding - Lights/Bright Lights
Gorillaz - Plastic Beach
I'm undecided on Ghost. The whole delivery/production just sounds like they couldn't be arsed, but the songs are quite well written and they have some tasty riffage.
-
Paul Gilbert - "Fuzz Universe"
Kaki King - "Junior"
Zola Jesus - "Stridulum EP"
Atheist - "Jupiter"
Pig Narcissus - "F**king Hate Dubstep"
Earl Sweatshirt - "Earl"
I don't think I've heard any other 2010 albums that I can remember. I'll have to check out the Fukpig one though, saw them live a few months ago with no preconceptions (or as few preconceptions as you can have about a band called Fukpig at a noise festival) and was impressed.

This years been disappointing for me, there's 1 album I can name.
Daath - Daath
2009 was much better. A lot of stuff coming out next year though.
-
for me its just
InMe - Herald Moth
and even though its from 2008
Falconer - Amongst Beggars & Thieves (im adding this as i only found out about them a month or so ago)
Overall a pretty dissapointing year musically

Really? I think their production values are absolutely bang on for what they're trying to do - unashamedly 70's occult rock like Coven and Cauldron and stuff but a bit more shiney and modern sounding.
-
mnemic - sons of the system
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oMHvveTdhEQ
soilwork - the panic broadcast
dimmu borgir's new one maybe
didn't think much to anything else
-
Wow, I've just realized I bought exactly two albums from 2010 this year,
Soilwork and Black Country Communion.
Both sucked A LOT. The first is boring metalcore, overproduced. The second is boring rock that tries to hard to sound like a classic vintage album.
-
My favourite release this year is undoubtedly "Live '83" by Alcatrazz

I going to go out on a limb and guess that's lots hear will say they've not really listened to anything new this year
^ This.
Blimey, what have I heard - and liked - that's new this year? :?
We Are The Fallen - Tear The World Down
Scorpions - Sting In the Tail
ReVamp - ReVamp
Philip Sayce - Innerevolution
Black Country Communion - Black Country
(I was also quite disappointed by the latter)
If I can think of anything else I'll add it....
-
Ye gads! I wish I'd edited my horrid grammar before you quoted it!
-
-
Y&T - facemelter
Europe - Last look at Eden
Accept - Blood of the Nations
Scorpions - Sting in the tail
Judas Priest - British Steel (remastered)
Eyewitness - Eyewitness (reissue)
Ratt - Infestation (even though they cancelled their tour)
Michael Schenker Group - 30th anniversary concert
Rammstein - Liebe ist fur alle da
-
Judas Priest - British Steel Corus (remastered)
fixed :D

For rock albums id pick the albums by Avi Buffalo, Flaming Lips and Band of Horses. All great albums in 2010 from them.
In metal id pick the Watain album, but ive not really picked up a lot of new metal this year. I've mainly gorged myself on old stuff.

I dunno what it is, maybe the drums or something. Just sounds a bit "flat". I find their style quite intriguing though, gonna be listening to them a bit more.
-
Oh yes, I have the Scorpions CD in the car. That one isn't bad indeed! :D
-
Slash's album
-
Slash - Slash
Phillip Sayce - Interevolution
Saint Jude - Diary of a soul fiend
Grace Potter & The Nocturnals - Grace Potter & The Nocturnals
Buck Cherry - All night long
Black Robot - Black robot
-
I'd need to check the front of the CD which is currently in the car, but I have a feeling Cancer Bats - Mayors, Bears, Scr@ps and Bones (or whatever it's called...) is from 2010. That is a bloody BRILLIANT album :)

Bought 5 2010 albums, nothing astounding. I liked Gogol Bordello's "Transcontinental hustle" I suppose.
There were great tracks throughout the year, but never 10 by one artist on a disc.
-
And what about Time Waits for no Slave by Napalm Death.. wasn't that a 2010 disc too? That is a STUNNING album!
-
Year of the Black Rainbow - Coheed and Cambria
This Addiction - Alkaline Trio
We Are the Void - Dark Tranquillity
The Living Measure of Time - Jurojin
The Panic Broadcast - Soilwork
Only other 2010 album I have is Stone Sour's, but haven't heard it yet. The Panic Broadcast was alright, but not as good as their old stuff.

Here is my eclectic ish all walks of metal list:
Equilibrium - Rekreatur
Allegaeon - Fragments of Form and Function
Helloween - 7 Sinners
Enslaved - Axioma Ethica Odini
Agalloch - Marrow Of The Spirit
An Autumn For Crippled Children - Lost
Alcest - Écailles de Lune
James LaBrie - Static Impulse
Enforcer - Diamonds
Gamma Ray - To The Metal
Burzum - Belus and Atheist - Jupiter were also really good!!!
Favourate track? This one:

Vocals may put some people off but the detailed riffs, composition and all round 'melodic epic' feeling made it a winner for me 8)
