Title: Pedal noise - help!
Post by: mikeluke on December 23, 2010, 02:58:16 PM
My Marshall Guv'nor has just developed a whine - sounds like bad interference - worse on power adapter than battery - swapped for another OD pedal and that works fine - does anyone out there fix pedals? It is my favourite and I don't want to junk it!

Thanks

Mike

Can have a poke around at it if you wish (though will have to be after the holidays).

Most likely a grounding issue or a loose solder joint.

my mk1 Guvnor did this, turned out to be a dodgy battery clip.

Well... looks like it must be a dodgy lead or something - was not whining with my mate's set up - although the pots do need a bit of switch cleaner on them (I tend to leave it on the same settings) - so, back to the drawing board to try to understand what is causing the interference. Will move everything to another room and swap the leads one by one to see if I can track it down.
