Title: Black Dog 7 - Huge modern metal tone
Post by: Nolly on January 06, 2011, 06:38:05 PM
Hey dudes,

Misha Mansoor and I recorded a little mixtest with my Bernie Rico Jekyll 727 which has a Black Dog in the bridge position, it's a truly massive sounding pickup!

Nolly, great mix as always

Axe-FX is definately on my shopping list, that sounds HUGE, are you using Superior Drummer 2.0 for the track?

Cheers dude! Yep the drums are S2.0, though I'm using a couple of the expansion packs as well as the default Avatar kit.

Im not too sure on this i guess the sound is awesome for a modern metal tone but for me it lacks character and doesnt really have the feel of an amp but i've never come across a modeller that does.

I guess im not liking it as i arent really into these modern high gain tones.

However i Did'nt expect that black dog to be that tight

Very tight playing overall so good work :)

Impressive. Far for my style, but the BD does a great job in metalterrority.
