Title: Would you guys be able to pot/cover one of my existing p-ups
Post by: Minty on December 29, 2005, 07:50:36 PM
Hey BK

Hope y'all had a nice x-mas!

I was just wondering if you guys would be able to put a cover on my Gibson LP open-coil 'buckers and then pot them, because they are making an awful squealing noise! But to be fair, they are 16 years old!

And if so, how much would this set me back?

Cheers guys!

Why not go for a rewind as well?

How would that change the tone of the p-ups?

I quite like the tone as they are!

From what I've heard they'll become more clear and will get a wider range. A rewind will breathe more life into them. They'll retain the original tone but you'll get the benefits of scatterwinding.
