Title: Apaches specs changed?

Hello all,

I got a set of aged Apaches personally wound by Tim about 5 years ago. They read 5.8k for neck anc middle and 6.45k for the bridge.

This was a slight underwound from the stock Apache values. Still the new BKP website states that Apaches are wound at 5.6k, 5.6k and 6.4k which is even lower. Have the specs changed? 5.6k is very low for a strat pickup.  is it to accomodate for a change in the wire or otherwise?

The bridge is exactly the same but for the past 4 or 5 years I have been winding the mid and necks a little lower at DC5.6K - this is not low at all for a single coil and is particularly well suited to neck and mid slots which benefit from the lower resistance.

So new Apaches are a tiny bit less hot than the old ones ( minus the bridge)? Ahh i get it. Thanks so much, Tim.

I love my set BTW.
