That's probably the most impressive clip I've seen of him. While I couldn't play a fraction of what he can without singing - playing that (c0ck on, too) AND singing over the top is very, very impressive indeed. And the lyrics are funny :)

using a hotplate attenuator there. nice
I used to be really uninterested in playing like this. it's only now I appreciate it and I regret spending years and years not really progressing any at the guitar.

Because he is a musical monster! (and a lovely bloke too - he writes back every time you email him!)
:gayflag: We love you Paul xxx :gayflag:

my favourite Paul riffs - "Green Tinted Sixties Mind" and "Superheroes"
I can barely play either..

Genius, Paul Gilbert. Funny and very astute - he's expanded his repertoire to include singing and added a healthy dash of humour so you get the all-round entertainment experience from him. He knows there's only so much appetite for shredding alone.

i think im the only person in the world that cant stand paul gilbert.
I dont mind him as a person but i find everything he does extremely boring

^I agree to some extent. I've pretty much always said he's my favourite of the high profile shredders, because he seems like such a nice guy as well as being staggeringly good. But at the same time, I struggle to listen through a full song of his because musically I find it really dull.

and hes a very good drummer also, apparently:

It's certainly not my style of music, either. I appreciate his talent, but in general I don't find any kind of lead guitar interesting any more. It's very very bad (from my perspective) when a mediocre or worse band decides to put solos in their music - I get very bored by that!
Obviously he's at another level, but yeah, not something I would spend any time listening to for sure.
