Title: nailbomb ceramic bridge and alnico neck?
Post by: mniel8195 on January 27, 2011, 12:47:34 AM
hello new member again, about to pull the trigger on some pickups, i think the aftermath is going to be to choked up for standard tuning.  I still have aggressive metal tones in mind but great cleans and a overall natural organic sound.  Can bareknuckle calibrate a set for me with a ceramic nailbomb in the bridge with a alnico in the neck?  i do most of my soloing in the neck position and all of my cleans in the neck so i think the alnico would be best for this.  Let me know if they can if not should i just go alnico all the way?  At the end of the day i want to nail that modern metal sound and still be able to get that classic modded marshall tone out of my axe fx, versatility is very important.

It's very rare for the Nailbomb-neck to be ceramic. If you order a Ceramic Nailbomb calibrated-set the neck pickup will still be Alnico.

as far as I know, there's no ceramic nailbomb for the neck

the neck nailbomb is very hot, though

That's what I said. The Neck Nailbomb is always Alnico. A ceramic bridge/alnico neck combo should be perfect for you/your guitar.

And @Eric: I've seen neck-Nailbombs with ceramic magnets done, just like my ceramic Aftermath-neck. It's just not an option in the store.
