Earvana and Graph-tech...
Any idea what the tonal effects are, which one is best etc? I am finally taking the plunge and putting together a list of parts that I want on my first custom, heh. I want it to be amazing, so no basic ol' plastic nuts here. :D

In an ideal world I like really dense bone
It gives great high end tone
But bone is very inconsistant and you can get voids in it too
I like Graphtech Tusq a lot - totally consistant , nearly as good as bone tonally
Earvana now use the same stuff as Graphtech Tusq for their nuts , although they used a teflon impregnated version for a long time which whilst slippery I found to be too soft , and it wasn't as good tonally and it wore out too quick.
Beacause of what the Earvana does harmonically because of the compensation , many people think it hasn't got as much low end, because you get more crisp definition to the notes.

Thanks for the info dude, much appreciated! I think i might have to go Graphtech Tusq, then, sounds like a dream material, heh.
Cheers!
