Hey guys. I am buying a new 50 watt guitar amp head and I need a cabinet to go with. I think the look of a 4x12 is bad @ss and I would like to get a really good one without spending a ton. Here in the U.S.A. there is the Avatar speaker company. Those guys seem good, and affordable, but I have never tried one.

Well, what's the head gonna be? That'll help narrow some things down. Also, you may want to try Craigslist for a used cab if you want all you can get for your money. The Avatars are OK, but for the same money you can do better used.

Look into Port City. I just ordered a 2x12 OS.
People love these cabs, apparently they are amazing. I can't wait until I get mine!

I have heard of Avatar, and if I'm not wrong they lean towards metal I think? I'm not sure. There have been lots of forum posts about them. And secondhand ones flying about the place.

Among the cheaper ones Peavey is among the best. Decent quality, good sound, especially the ones with Jensen speakers. The other guitar player in my last band had one and I was very impressed with it.

I am either buying a Dave Friedman amp or a ceriatone chupacabra. Think high gain Marshall tones. I was thinking a 4x12 cab with a greenback v30 combo or something like that.

G12-65 is a great speaker for that modded marshall tone if not the best choice imho.
Or a good old fashioned Greenback!
